Top Ten Tuesday: Indoor Camping

Written by Tara, Posted in Parenting

For the past week or so, I've been taking care of my conjunctivitis and cold stricken family. Yet I have remained healthy...until this morning. Today, I woke up feeling bad, and I want to lay around and do nothing.

But see, I've got these 2 rambunctions, curious preschoolers who are now healthy as can be and want to "do something." <make sure to use a whiny voice when reading that>

5 Kids + 2 Pools + 1 "Great" Idea

Written by Tara, Posted in Parenting

cadegogglesFriday I had 5 kids at my house, and I thought it would be fun to get a kiddie pool to swim. My friend offered to bring over her pool so we could have twice the pool splashin' awesomeness! I even bought those super junky popsicles in the plastic tube because I thought that would just up the fun-factor.

But then I didn't put them in the freezer, so they weren't even completely frozen come 3pm, which was like, 5 hours after our swimming debacle.

How to Grow a Kid God's Way #restoreunity

Written by Tara, Posted in Parenting

Last night I randomly came upon Rachel Held Evan's Rally to Restore Unity. You could easily spend hours reading people's thoughts about how to #restoreunity in The Church. I plan to do just that if I ever don't have multitudes of children at my feet and a pile of dishes so high it's bordering a sanitation concern. We can all dream, right?

Unlikely Treasures

A Part of Toddler Talk Thursday

This week's Toddler Talk Thursday topic is about the unlikely treasures you find in your little one's toybox.  These are all the things that you won't find on the shelves of Target, but are still treasured toys.

I was going through the kids toys tonight anyway, since I was Disney Princess purging.  I kept an eye out for some strange "toys," and I found quite a few!

The Disney Princess Purging Plunge

Written by Tara, Posted in Parenting

My kids love Disney Princesses.  They play with the dolls, pretend they are princesses, and even make movies about them.  Unfortunately, they also fight over all things Disney Princess more than anything else in the house.  There is this strange, intense strife that emerges when a princess is involved.  The little Polly Pocket-esque ones (you know, the ones with the microscopic shoes and impossible to put on sticky dresses) evoke a special kind of crazy.

I Think My Heart Just Grew

Wordless Wednesday

Have you ever felt like you were loving someone with every ounce of your being, only to wake up the next morning and realize that you love them even more today?

I'm NOT Listening!!

Written by Tara, Posted in Parenting

Super C has about a month left of being two, and I think she's trying to go out with a bang.

I love her to pieces.  She's cute as all get out, she's sweet, she's smart.  She is also SASSY.  I have no idea where in the world she got that from...

Kids Are Funny Friday

Welcome to Kids Are Funny Friday!

One of the things I like most about being a mom is how hilarious kids are.  Some things they say are so cute, I just can't bear to correct them!  I always think, "I've GOT to write that down!"  So here's the place to do just that.  Please link up if you'd like, and share the funny things your kids have done or said this week.

Remembering To Be Thankful

Written by Tara, Posted in Motherhood

Last night I was stressed out.  We had gotten some new furniture that needed to be put together.  I was assembling the chairs and got a blister.  The lighting fixture was missing a piece.  We had people coming over for a meeting so the house had to be presentable.  The kids needed to be fed so I could bring them to a friend's house during the meeting.  The meal needed to be finished up so I could feed our guests.  I needed to vacuum the floor.  Again.
