Top Ten Reasons I Love My Baby Daddy

Posted in Parenting, Family

In honor of Father's Day, I have put together the top ten reasons I love my baby daddy, in his daddy capacity

  1. He has created a bedtime routine so elaborate and detailed, I cannot possibly replicate it. My stories aren't as good, I don't give horsey rides up the stairs, I don't give "last call for water" the right way - so I am forced to just chill downstairs on Facebook. Darn.
  2. He throws fantastic family dance parties, with hits like Party in the USA. His signature move, the "atomic booty" is being passed down to the kids, and has only resulted in one split lip so far.
  3. He has taught our son through example how to make a woman feel great about herself. And as such - not a day goes by when I don't hear from one of my boys "you're beautiful."
  4. He has passed along his contagious, gorgeous smile to his daughter. She has learned to use it to get out of all sorts of trouble, just like her father.
  5. He's way more fun than I am. He plays, builds train tracks and has wrestling matches. In the ring he's "Big Daddy," Big E is just "Big E," and Super C is "Queen Wedgie Picker."
  6. He makes awesome breakfasts for all of us. And usually lets me sleep while doing so.
  7. He's super cute. And he's passed down that cuteness to the little ones.
  8. He is a bigger sweets Nazi than me. I love to defer to him in this arena and let him be the bad guy. He has special interest in controlling chocolate intake because of his role in bedtime. See #1.
  9. He has passed on his rhythm to Super C, and they love to jam out in his office on his electric drum set and/or the "combos" (bongos).
  10. He is the best partner I could ask for. He supports while pushing me to be better, he gives me space to rejuvinate, he prays for me, and he brings joyfulness and happiness to our home.

Happy Father's Day Joel, I Love You!!!
