Sifting Out the Best from the Good

Written by Tara, Posted in Miscellaneous, Motherhood, Adoption

The past couple weeks, every time my head hits the pillow, one thought runs through my head.

I failed today.

I am not into ending my day this way, yet I can't seem to shake it.

A Part of Top Ten Tuesday

I finally cleaned out the hundreds of pictures on my phone last night, and decided to give you some highlights of the last 2 months via iPhone pictures.

Community Refines

Buddy B has been hanging out with us every so often this summer, which has been awesome. See, he's eight. He knows how to read, unbuckle car seats, work the Kinect and play Candy Land. The kids love him to pieces, and so do I.

Buddy B is super patient with Big E, and they have fun together. The other day when they were playing, Big E decided that he would be in control and wave his magic wand to make everyone do whatever he wanted. I could tell that Buddy B was getting annoyed, and frankly, so was I. Buddy B finally told him, "No one is going to want to play with you when you act like that."

Amen, brother. Preach it.

A Part of Top Ten Tuesday

#firstworldproblems. I've got them, and you've probably got them too. You know, those things that are seem like "problems," but actually aren't really that big of a deal. And in reality, they just illuminate how blessed most of us really are.

If you haven't watched this video yet, then you need to. It's brilliant.

Thankful Thursday

Written by Tara, Posted in Miscellaneous, Family

Disclaimer: I had a whole other post written about how I'm thankful for clean water. I was just going to write a little intro about Jenny, and then I went and read her post for today, and my heart got all gooey and this what flowed out.

This is my first week participating in Thankful Thursday, hosted by my "Sister from the North" Jenny, at Jenny's Blessed Nest. I've known her my whole life, since our moms are best friends.

Our Car

Posted in Miscellaneous

Let me preface this by saying that I'm very thankful for our car. It's totally paid for, and we've had to put very little into it. That said, this car has lots of character.

Only one window rolls down, the rear passenger side. This becomes problematic in a black car with weak AC in Florida.  It's also problematic after Mexican food.

Top Ten Things I Needed To Do (Update)

Written by Tara, Posted in Miscellaneous, Homemaking

Two weeks ago I posted my Top Ten Things I Need To Do List.  I could tell that some of you were seriously concerned about me, so I wanted to give you all an update.  I know you were all on the edge of your seat waiting for this - so wait no more.

Tip: If you are hemming and hawing about getting something done, put it out there for the world to see (maybe not the world, but all five of you who read my blog).  It's so embarrassing, you'll be moved to stop blogging and actually get something done.
