Goat Cheese Bruschetta

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking

Tonight I indulged in my favorite treat of all time. Goat Cheese Bruschetta. The tangy goat cheese with the sweet tomato and balsamic glaze is just seriously delicious.

This is the kind of thing I have to close my eyes when I eat, because it's almost a holy moment.

I Love Pinterest {Back To School Party}

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking , Homeschooling

As usual, I'm a late adapter when it comes to the latest and greatest in trends.

My newest love (that you all have probably been loving for months) is Pinterest. Not to be too epic, but I think Pinterest could make me a better person. Well, a craftier person in the very least.

Top Ten Tips for the Lazy Homemaker

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking

I can't believe I've had so much to do this week that I haven't even had time to blog. Horror of all horrors! My sweet sister was so worried about my lack of posts that she called me just to make sure I was still alive.

We have had a ton of people over for meetings, babysitting, meetings, house church, and meetings.  Subsequently, I've spent a lot more time on my feet cleaning instead of on my butt blogging.  In honor of my week of cleaning (only to have it destroyed in 5 minutes by the kids), here's my contribution to Top Ten Tuesday.

Around My Table {Week 4}

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking , Breastfeeding, Babywearing, Around My Table

Last week, my table was a science lab, and sadly, our caterpillar died.  Big E's still in denial, but I'm pretty sure Catty is a goner.  How long should I let him believe he's sleeping?

In happier news, this week my table was littered with sewing projects. I hadn't been in a sewing mood for a while, but this week I caught the bug and ran with it.

Top Ten Things I Needed To Do (Update)

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking , Miscellaneous

Two weeks ago I posted my Top Ten Things I Need To Do List.  I could tell that some of you were seriously concerned about me, so I wanted to give you all an update.  I know you were all on the edge of your seat waiting for this - so wait no more.

Tip: If you are hemming and hawing about getting something done, put it out there for the world to see (maybe not the world, but all five of you who read my blog).  It's so embarrassing, you'll be moved to stop blogging and actually get something done.

A Table Full of Possibilities

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking , Family, Around My Table

A couple weeks ago, we bought a new dining room table.  Our previous table was made for four, though we squeezed many more around it on a regular basis.  Our new table can expand to comfortably fit 10 people - so it's quite the upgrade!

As I look at this huge table, I’m amazed by the amount of people who have already sat around it, the planning that has happened here over coffee, all the laughs it has seen.  I can’t imagine what this table will behold in the years to come.

Kid's Room Makeover

Posted in Homemaking

We finally re-did the kids room!  Up till now, it had been a mix of Big E's baby stuff and whatever else we threw in there.  I won some wall decals around Christmas, so we worked with those colors to find some awesome bedding and accessories at Ikea.

There's Something in the Water

Written by Tara, Posted in Homemaking , Parenting

Tonight the family was having a dance party upstairs in Joel's office when Big E started asking me for some apple juice.

"Just a minute," I told him.

"Moooooo-ooom, when you say just a minute that means you aren't ever going to do it."
